How To Care For Your Flook Garment

A little extra care helps preserve the fabric, shape and softness of your Flook pieces. As every garment is made differently, always follow the care label attached to your item first. The guidance below provides additional advice to help extend the life of your Flook wardrobe.

Knitwear

Our knitwear is designed to feel soft, fluid and comfortable against the body. Knitted fabrics can naturally stretch, snag or lose shape if not handled carefully.

Washing

  • Always check the garment care label before washing.
  • Where permitted, hand wash gently in cold water using a mild detergent.
  • Avoid soaking the garment for long periods.
  • Do not bleach, wring or twist.
  • Avoid fabric softeners, as they may affect the fibres and finish of the garment.

Drying

  • Gently press out excess water using a clean towel.
  • Reshape the garment while damp.
  • Dry flat in the shade on a clean surface.
  • Do not hang wet knitwear, as the weight of the water may stretch the garment.
  • Avoid tumble drying unless specifically permitted by the care label.

Storing

  • Fold knitwear rather than hanging it.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Take care around jewellery, bags and rough surfaces that may cause snagging.
  • Minor pilling may occur naturally with wear and can be carefully removed using a fabric comb.

Crochet

Our crochet pieces are individually constructed and may have slight variations that reflect the handmade nature of the technique.

Crochet requires gentle handling to help maintain its shape and structure.

Washing

  • Always refer to the care label first.
  • Hand wash separately in cold water with a mild detergent where permitted.
  • Wash gently without rubbing, twisting or wringing.
  • Do not bleach.
  • Avoid soaking for extended periods.

Drying

  • Gently press out excess water with a clean towel.
  • Reshape while damp.
  • Lay flat to dry in the shade.
  • Do not hang while wet, as this may cause stretching.
  • Do not tumble dry unless stated on the care label.

Wearing & Storing

  • Take care around jewellery, rough surfaces and sharp objects.
  • Avoid pulling loose threads. If a thread appears, carefully ease it back into the garment rather than cutting it.
  • Fold and store flat to help preserve the original shape.
  • Avoid placing heavy items on top of delicate crochet pieces.

Wovens

Our woven garments may include lightweight cottons, linens, rayons and other structured or fluid fabrics.

Care instructions vary by composition, so the garment care label should always be followed.

Washing

  • Wash only as directed on the care label.
  • Use cold water and a gentle detergent where machine or hand washing is permitted.
  • Wash with similar colours.
  • Place delicate pieces inside a laundry bag before machine washing.
  • Avoid bleach and harsh stain removers.
  • Do not soak for extended periods.

Drying & Ironing

  • Air dry in the shade.
  • Avoid tumble drying unless specifically permitted.
  • Reshape the garment while damp.
  • Use a cool iron or garment steamer where required.
  • Iron delicate fabrics on the reverse side.
  • Avoid applying direct heat to trims, elastic, buttons or embellishments.

Storing

  • Lightweight woven garments may be hung on padded hangers.
  • Heavier garments should be folded to prevent stretching.
  • Store away from direct sunlight to help protect the colour.

Viscose Crepe

Our viscose crepe is lightweight, fluid and soft against the skin. Its delicate drape is part of its beauty and requires careful handling.

Viscose may temporarily feel firmer or appear slightly smaller when wet. With gentle steaming and wear, the fabric will relax back into its natural drape.

Washing

  • Always check the care label before cleaning.
  • We recommend gentle hand washing in cold water where permitted.
  • Use a mild detergent suitable for delicate fabrics.
  • Wash separately or with similar colours.
